We are going to the Cleveland Cavaliers vs Milwaukee Bucks basketball game which will be played at the Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 7:00 PM ET.

Turkish Player Ersan Ilyasova is on the Bucks team and will be there too. We may be able to meet him after the game to say hi!

Tickets are $27 at the regular price, but $22 if 20 or more attend.

The US Census 2010 is approaching fast. Every one including students are being counted.

A good count of Turks is very important to our community. Mark your form as shown on the left. All personal information is kept secret.
Degerli Turk Amerikan Toplumu Uyeleri,

ABD 2010 Nufus Sayimi geliyor. Herkes vize statusune bakilmadan sayilacak.

Turklerin gercekleri yansitan bir sayimi toplumumuz icin cok onemli. Formlarinizi solda gosterildigi gibi doldurun. Kisisel verileriniz kanunen korunmustur.
During 2010 Census, let them know you are of Turkish origin. ATAA is partnering with the US Census Bureau to spearhead the national campaign to count people of Turkish and Turkic heritage throughout America. You should either have recently received your census form or you will receive it shortly. Complete and submit the Census 2010 Form by writing “Turk” in the “Other” box on the Census 2010 form. Watch this video for further detailed explanation on how to fill out the form to be counted as TURK. More details can be found at www.ataa.org.

It is very important for us to know how many Turks are living and voting in America to become a political force to reckon with. Depending on the results of Census 2010, over $400B in federal funding will be available to state and local projects, including diversity programs. In addition, depending on the enumeration of Turks, the Census Bureau may decide to include a “Turkish” box in the 2020 Census. So it is really important for each and every one of us to be counted as having Turkish heritage.

Halbuki diger etnik guruplarin cogu irk sorusunun altindaki OTHER kismini isaretleyerek yanina etnik kokenlerini isaretlediklerinden sayica daha belirgin guruplar olduklarini kanitlamislardir.

Turk kokenimizin tam belirlenmesi durumunda Federal Hukumet veya Eyaletler bazinda cesitli projelerin yururluge konulmasini isterken, egitim gibi onemli konularda butce tahsisati yapilirken ve
hatta kongre ve senato temsilcilerimiz ile konusurken bu sayim sonuclari cok onemli bir veri tabani olusturmaktadir. Sayimda form doldurmak icin US vatandasi olmaniz gerekmemektedir, burada yasiyor olmaniz yeterlidir. Bu nedenle tum uyelerimizden Census 2010 formlarini doldururken RACE kisminda Other’i isaretleyip yanindaki parantez icine ”Turk” yazmalarini ve tanidiklari ve Turkiye ve Turki Cumhuriyetler kokenli olduklarini bildikleri kisilere konunun onemini hatirlatmalarini onemle rica ederim. by Professor Bilge Hürmüzlü, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi (Isparta,Turkey).

Professor Hürmüzlü will talk about the first full season, and future plans, of the Isparta Archaeological Survey (IAS), a newly-formed interdisciplinary research collaboration between the Department of Archaeology at Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi, Isparta, the Department of Classics at Case Western Reserve University (including both faculty who teach and students who take CLSC 318/418), members of Rutgers, University, and members of The University of Applied Sciences, Berlin.
Professor Hürmüzlü will detail how in the first full season we surveyed the area of the ancient city of Konane, which lies in and around the modern village of Gönen just north of the modern city of Isparta. She will also talk about how CWRU students can get involved.

Saat 11.00-11.30am arasinda Lakeside Ave. ile East 9′un kesistigi kosede yeralan ve icinde “FREE” yazili muhur olan Willard Park’da bulusulacak.
 
Saat 11.30 da Mehter Takimi Willard Park’dan East 9 uzerinde yurumeye basliyacak. St. Clair’e gelince saga donup, ileride yolun solunda yeralan War Memorial – Mall A da yurumeyi sonlandirip, orada konsere devam edilecek.
 
Saat 1:00 pm’e kadar konser devam edecek ve sona erecek.

Don’t forget, the historic Ottoman Mehter Military Band will perform in Downtown Cleveland, today August 12, between 11:30am and 1:00pm.
 
The Mehter Band will gather at Willard Park downtown at Lakeside Avenue and East 9th Street between 11:00 and 11:30am and start a parade in that famous “Mehter-Style” toward the south on East 9th Street.
 
At St. Clair Avenue, they will turn right (west) and march to the War Memorial – Mall A where they will continue their concert until 1:00pm.
